TYPICAL CONSTRUCTION

BACK TO TOP

Core: 45lb. density particle board.


Concealed Surfaces: Thermally Fused Melamine on 45lb. density particleboard core in a variety of colors. (Refer to the drop down menu on the quote page for available options) High Pressure white laminate interiors are also available. (All open cabinets have Matching High Pressure Laminate Interiors)


Exposed Surfaces: Vertical Grade High Pressure Laminate PVA glued.


Joinery: 8mm dowel construction.


Backs: 1/2" thick White Thermally Fused Melamine trapped in dado on four sides


Nailers: 1/2" thick White Thermally Fused Melamine (2 on wall, 1 on base, 3 on tall)


Sides: 3/4" thick White Thermally Fused Melamine (Matching High Pressure Laminate for finished ends)


Cabinet edges: .018 PVC or High Pressure Laminate Self Edge hot melt machine applied.


Door Edges: .018 PVC, 3mm PVC or Self Edge hot melt machine applied.


Shelf Edges: .018" PVC on 1 long edge.


Shelves: 3/4" Thick White Thermally Fused Melamine(Matching High Pressure Laminate for Open Cabinets) up to 32" spans.

  • 1" Thick White Thermally Fused Melamine for spans over 32" on closed cabinets only
  • (Shelves over 32" wide are not recommended and should not be designed to carry more than 66 lbs.)

Door and Drawer Front: Vertical Grade High Pressure Laminate Faces with Vertical Grade White High Pressure Laminate backs. Matching Vertical Grade High Pressure Laminate backs are also available No door/drawer front option is available for those who prefer to use their own, in which case hinges are not included.


TYPICAL WALL CABINET

Wall Tops: 3/4" thick White Thermally Fused Melamine.


Wall Bottoms: 3/4" thick panel using Vertical Grade High Pressure Matching Laminate Exterior and Vertical Grade White Melamine Interior.

Open Wall: Open cabinets have 11/16" particleboard cores with Vertical Grade High Pressure Laminate both sides


Wall cabinets over 16" deep require additional support via end walls, panels or brackets.


TYPICAL BASE CABINET

Base Tops: 3/4" thick White Thermally Fused Melamine Stretchers. (Exceptions: B2D2D cabinets receive full tops, Sink Base cabinets have vertically mounted front rail.


Base bottoms: 3/4" thick White Thermally Fused Melamine.


Grain Direction: Vertical grain orientation for all backs, sides, door and drawer fronts (End matching grain for door and drawer fronts).


Drawer Boxes: 5 piece, dowel construction drawer boxes are available in 1/2" Melamine, 3/4" Melamine and 1/2" Pre Finished Birch Plywood. Dovetailed Pre Finished plywood and Dovetailed Hardwood drawer boxes are also available.


Toe Kick Options: Choose from either an Integral Kick or separate sub-Base option. When pricing cabinet with Sub-bases, it is necessary to select and size the sub-bases as you would typical cabinets and accessories.

Filler Panels: Vertical Grade matching High Pressure Laminate over Vertical Grade White High Pressure Laminate on 11/16" particle board core. Edged all edges .018 matching PVC.


End Panels: Vertical Grade matching High Pressure Laminate both faces on 11/16" particle board core. Edged all edges .018 matching PVC.

Hinges: 120 degree Blum Hinges, Optional 170 degree Blum Hinges and Five Knuckle hinge applications include a magnetic catch per door.


Slides: Fulterer 100lb. full extension ball bearing and Optional Fulterer full extension, Self Closing.


Pulls: 4" Satin Chrome Wire Pull or 1 1/4" (31mm) Nickel Matt Hafele 134.45.600 Satin Chrome Knob (Shipped loose in each cabinet with screws).


Shelf Clips: Clear Double Pin with locking feature.


Bumpers: 1/8" clear button style.

Tolerances:

  • Gaps: doors, drawer fronts and panels shall not exceed 1/8" (3.2mm) or +/- 1/16" (1.6mm).
  • Alignment: adjacent doors and drawer fronts in the normal closed position shall not exceed 1/32" (.8mm).
  • Flushness: adjacent doors and drawer fronts shall not exceed 1/16" (1.6mm).
  • Flushness: between exposed factory assembled joints shall not vary more than .010"(.25mm)
  • Flatness: of doors and drawer fronts measured diagonally shall not exceed 1/32" / foot of length.
  • Edge Quality: shall be machined flush with all sharp corners removed. A maximum visible overlap shall be acceptable of no more than .005 (.13mm) for a length of no more than 1" (25.4mm) in any 24" run (610mm).Chip out of the laminate shall be invisible when viewed from 48".
